Wow & Flutter is about making statements. It provides an opportunity for self expression through creating a new means of confidence, that may be difficult to come by naturally. Wow and Flutter speaks the voice of elegance and mystery, the quietly confident type of girl.
A sense of power is formed through low cowl necks, dark tones and femininity, but also through baggy silhouettes, conservatism and androgyny. Wow & Flutter aims to explore, nurture and empower the greatest version of you.
Our Ethics
Our manufacturer works with ‘at risk’ Vietnamese women who have been displaced from their communities due to reasons such as domestic abuse or having children outside culturally acceptable relationships. Many of these women have not had the opportunity to pursue careers or further their education due to the absence of family and community whilst raising their children.
Our manufacturer takes these women in and provides them with full-time employment, job training, education in English, financial management, health improvements and employable skills. They also offer direct private health care, unemployment coverage, union coverage and a retirement salary. On top of that, they pay women in the local area a salary to care for their employee’s children during working hours.
They are one of the only small factories in Asia set up correctly that offer a full guaranteed salary to their employees.

The name Wow & Flutter originates from a term used to describe a record player’s ability to sustain a good pitch and dim a ‘frequency wobble’. Just the right amount of wow and flutter causes the record to sound consistently harmonious. Riyana found this term perfect for her brand name due to her love of music, but also for her value of balance in fashion.
